The king of fruits, mango, is easily available in almost every home during the summer season. People enjoy mangoes in many forms — eating them fresh, making juice, shakes, or preparing aamras. While mango tastes delicious on its own, if you have a sweet tooth, you must try making Mango Pak, a delightful dessert made from mango pulp.
This sweet treat is a favorite among mango lovers and can be easily prepared at home. It’s enjoyed with great enthusiasm in many cities across India. Here’s how you can make this tasty dessert:
Ingredients for Mango Pak:
- 1 cup ripe, sweet mango pulp
- 2 cups milk powder
- 3 cups grated coconut
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
- A pinch of saffron strands
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped pistachios
- 2 tablespoons ghee
How to Make Mango Pak:
- In a blender, mix the mango pulp and milk powder together to form a smooth purée.
- Pour this mango purée into a large pan or kadhai.
- Add sugar and stir well until the mixture combines properly.
- Now add the grated coconut and continue to stir the mixture. Cook it until it thickens — this may take around 15–20 minutes.
- Once the mixture thickens, add the cardamom powder and mix thoroughly.
- Grease a tray or plate with ghee and pour the thickened mixture onto it. (You can also use a baking tray if you have one.)
- Spread and level the mixture nicely, then cut it into squares or diamond shapes.
- Garnish each piece with saffron strands and chopped pistachios.
- Serve and enjoy your homemade Mango Pak!
