Let’s Join Hands Together To Strengthen SDGs: 7, 12, 13, 14, 15 & Protect Our Environment

Climate Change is recognized today as the greatest environmental challenge, threatening to affect all spheres of our lives and will leave behind severe catastrophic effects if not dealt with the right action.

While climate change impacts or is impacted by nearly all of the 17 SDGs (hunger, poverty, good health and more), SDGs 7, 12, 13, 14, and 15 have specific indicators calling for action to cut emissions, reduce pollution of our air, land, and waters, and adopt clean and innovative clean energy technologies.

SDG 7 Affordable and Clean Energy

Investing in solar, wind and thermal power, improving energy productivity, and ensuring energy for all is vital if we are to achieve SDG 7 by 2030. Expanding infrastructure and upgrading technology to provide clean and more efficient energy in all countries will encourage growth and help the environment.

SDG 12 Responsible consumption and production

Achieving economic growth and sustainable development requires that we urgently reduce our ecological footprint by changing the way we produce and consume goods and resources. This can help with food security, and shift us towards a more resource efficient economy

SDG 13 Climate Action

Climate action means stepped-up efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-induced impacts, including: climate-related hazards in all countries; integrating climate change measures into national policies, strategies and planning; and improving education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity with respect to climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning.

Goal 14 Life Below Water

The world’s oceans – their temperature, chemistry, currents and life – drive global systems that make the Earth habitable for humankind…. The SDGs aim to sustainably manage and protect marine and coastal ecosystems from pollution, as well as address the impacts of ocean acidification.

SDG 15 Life on Land

Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.

The SDGs recognise the extent to which human wellbeing is dependent on environmental and climate protection. So, it is appropriate to say that integrating development with environmental protection is the need of the hour. That is why we should join hands together to strengthen SDGs: 7, 12, 13, 14, 15 and protect our environment.
