US secretary of State meets India’s EAM & NSA

New Delhi: In a conversation on the sidelines of the emergency meeting of the UN Security Council in New York, Minister for external affairs S Jaishankar and US secretary of state Antony Blinken have decided to cooperate given the unrest in Afghanistan.

“Secretary Blinken and minister Jaishankar discussed Afghanistan and agreed to continued coordination,” US state department spokesperson Ned Price said in a readout of the call.

India is closely monitoring the developments in Afghanistan and their myriad implications for the geo-political status quo in the region.
