The cases of atrocities against Hindus are not stopping in Pakistan. In yet another incident of crime against minorities that have become endemic to the Islamic state, a 42-year-old Bheel woman being gang-raped and brutally murdered.
The victim has been identified as Diya Bheel who, as per reports, was first gang-raped and later her head and breasts were chopped off. The demonic accused went as far as de-skinning her head before disposing of her dead body along with the de-skinned head in a wheat field.
After this incident, Krishna Kumari, a Senator from Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) visited Diya Bheel’s village in Sinjhoro. She tweeted, “Daya Bhel 40 years widow brutally murdered and the body was found in very bad condition. Her head was separated from the body and the savages had removed flesh of the whole head. Visited her village Police teams from Sinjhoro and Shahpurchakar also reached.”
Sindh province of Pakistan’s Sanghar District is where the case was first recorded. According to media reports, no case has yet been brought in this situation. In addition, no one has been named among the accused.
Notably, the surge in the cases of rape, forced conversions and marriages in Pakistan has put the Hindu families in constant fear of their daughters being snatched away, the International Forum for Rights and Society (IFFRAS) reported.
This month, the UK government imposed sanctions on its Muslim cleric Mian Abdul Haq for forced conversions and marriages of girls and women from religious minorities but such cases also don’t appear to impact the Pakistan government. The cases of rape, forced marriage and conversions come out regularly and are ultimately dumped.
Recently, a minor Hindu girl, aged 13, was abducted from her home by a man named Arshad Ali from Karachi, Sindh.
An FIR has been registered with the Karachi police, however, no arrest has so far been made in the incident.
In August 2022, an eight-year-old Hindu girl was brutally gang-raped in Umarkot region of Sindh province, her eyes gouged out after that.
A Hindu female farm worker was beaten and gang-raped in Pakistan by the farm owner and goons in October 2022.
In the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, kidnapping, rape, forced conversion, and marriage of young Hindu girls are all frequent events. In Sindh province alone, at least 1000 minority girls experience this type of sex slavery annually. In addition to this, Pakistani Hindus experience institutionalised and systemic discrimination and neglect, including repeated attacks on Hindu temples, the demonization of the educational system, hostility from the police and the judiciary, denial of basic rights, and even untouchability.
Religious minorities have been living in Pakistan for centuries, but still they are not considered equal citizens. They are persecuted by both state and society. The recent spate of crimes against the Hindus in Pakistan hollows the government’s claims that it has made adequate security arrangements for minorities in the country.
In 2021, the United States placed Pakistan on a list of “countries of particular concern” for religious freedom violations.
Human rights organizations and the US media report estimates that every year, nearly 1,000 minority girls are being kidnapped or forcibly converted to Islam.
Human rights groups have documented the plight of Pakistan’s religious minorities for years, but to no avail.
