Desk: The Israeli military reported that on Saturday, a drone from Lebanon entered the Caesarea region and attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence. The drone exploded near a building, but no casualties have been reported. Additionally, two other drones were intercepted in the same area.
According to the Prime Minister’s spokesperson, Netanyahu is safe. Reuters reported that Netanyahu was not at home during the attack, and no fatalities have been confirmed. Following the incident, sirens blared across Tel Aviv.
The attack occurred amid ongoing conflict with Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran. Just a day earlier, Hezbollah had announced its intentions to intensify guided missile and drone strikes against Israel. The escalation follows the death of Hezbollah’s commander, Hassan Nasrallah, which has further fueled tensions between Hezbollah, Iran, and Israel. Meanwhile, Israel also claimed to have killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.
Experts warn that the death of key militant leaders could intensify the conflict. Israel is currently engaged in a two-front war against both Hamas and Hezbollah. On Friday, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei expressed sorrow over Sinwar’s death, stating, “Hamas is alive and will always remain alive.” These statements suggest that Iran is likely to continue supporting these groups, which could lead to a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict.
