Slough:Two celebrated British artists of Indian descent, Jignesh Patel and Yash Patel, recently revealed a captivating mural titled “We All Laugh and Cry in the Same Language” in Slough. Unveiled as part of a community-driven art project, the mural aims to foster unity and celebrate the diverse cultural fabric of the town.
Displayed at Triple S AutoCare, the mural incorporates flags from numerous countries, embodying a spirit of global harmony. Local community members, including families and children, actively participated in the painting process, adding a personal touch that reflects Slough’s vibrant diversity.
The unveiling event saw notable attendees, including Slough Mayor Balwinder Singh Dhillon, Council Leader Dexter Smith, and MP Tan Dhesi, alongside council members Ezaz Ahmed, Chandra Muvvala, and Ifftakar Ahmed. The Indian Diaspora in the UK (IDUK Group) organized the event, encouraging local families to join and paint flags, enhancing inclusivity and community involvement.
Reflecting on the project, IDUK representatives Hirdesh Gupta, Ajay Murudkar, and Alok Gupta expressed pride in supporting an endeavor that highlights togetherness and inclusivity. Paresh Shah, owner of Triple S AutoCare, affirmed that the mural will stand as a lasting emblem of Slough’s dedication to multicultural harmony.
