New Delhi: India has emerged as a support for many countries battling the Corona epidemic. India has sent a consignment of COVID- 19 vaccine to neighboring countries, without affecting its vaccination campaign. At the same time, Minister of External Affairs of India, Jaishankar informed that India has delivered different types of medical supplies to a total of 150 countries during the pandemic. Many of these countries were undergoing more serious conditions due to the virus.
Addressing the 14th annual conference of Israel’s National Institute of Security Studies, the External Affairs Minister said, “Even as we have begun mass vaccination at home, Indian vaccine supplies to our immediate neighbours have started. This is expected to cover other partner countries in the coming days. The world can only benefit from a more collective effort to deal with the serious issues.”
Notably, the government of India, which became a troubleshooter of other countries during the Corona period, has sent more than 3.2 million free doses of vaccine to Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives. Sri Lanka and Bahrain have also been supplied in this list today.
Jaishankar said that combating pandemics would naturally dominate the global agenda in the coming days. As a country that provided during this pandemic medical supplies and equipment to more than 150 nations, many of them as grants, India supports greater coordination among responders.
