Desk: There is widespread anger in India following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Various countries around the world have also reacted to the incident. Most nations have reiterated their commitment to supporting India and pledged to act against terrorism. Amidst this, after the killing of 26 innocent people, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has stated that he is ready for an impartial investigation. He has also issued a stern warning about taking action.
According to AFP, Sharif said, “We are ready for a fair and neutral investigation into this attack. The allegations against Pakistan are baseless. We will spare no effort to defend our sovereignty. Any attempt to reduce or divert Pakistan’s water will be met with a strong response.”
It should be noted that the responsibility for this heinous attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, was claimed by ‘The Resistance Front’ (TRF), an organization linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba. Following this attack, India has taken several tough steps against Pakistan, including suspending the Indus Water Treaty and expelling Pakistani military officers. India has accused Pakistan of continuous cross-border terrorism support.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has explicitly stated that every terrorist and their supporters will be punished. A large-scale search and operation against terrorists continues in Jammu and Kashmir.
