Desk:In a strong rebuttal at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting, India exposed Pakistan’s role in fostering terrorism. The session was chaired by China, Pakistan’s close ally, but that did not deter India from holding Pakistan accountable.
India’s diplomat highlighted how the country has long suffered from terrorist activities orchestrated by Pakistan-based groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed. He remarked that it is the world’s greatest irony when Pakistan claims to be fighting terrorism while serving as its epicenter.
India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, P. Harish, strongly countered Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, who had raised the Jammu and Kashmir issue during a debate on global governance reforms. Responding to Dar’s remarks, Harish labeled Pakistan as the “global hub of terrorism,” emphasizing that over 20 UN-designated terrorist organizations operate from its soil.
He further stressed that groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Harkat-ul-Mujahideen remain active in Pakistan, proving that the country continues to be a breeding ground for terrorism despite its false claims of combating it. Throughout India’s scathing attack, China, which was presiding over the meeting, remained silent.
