New Delhi: India on Tuesday strongly rejected the recent statement made by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) regarding Jammu and Kashmir, calling it baseless and issued at the “behest of Pakistan.”
Responding to the OIC’s comments, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “The OIC statement, issued at the behest of Pakistan, is absurd in its refusal to acknowledge the reality of the Pahalgam terror attack and its cross-border links.”
He further criticized Pakistan for attempting to use the OIC to serve its own interests, saying, “This is yet another attempt by Pakistan—a country with a long history of supporting cross-border terrorism—to manipulate and mislead the OIC into releasing a self-serving and politically motivated statement.”
India also firmly rejected what it called the OIC’s unwarranted interference in its internal affairs.
The OIC, in a statement issued from New York, had expressed “deep concern over the deteriorating security situation in South Asia” and criticized India for its “unfounded allegations against the Islamic Republic of Pakistan,” claiming such actions contribute to rising regional tensions.
The 57-member Islamic bloc reiterated its “principled position against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, regardless of the perpetrator or location,” and warned that such accusations could worsen an already fragile situation.
