New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the nation through his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
Talking about the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic, he said that India has given indigenous vaccine to the people of the country within a year which shows the strength of the country. He also urged people to shun vaccine hesitancy.
“Please get rid of fear. Sometimes people may get a fever but it is very mild & lasts only for a few hours. Avoiding (#COVID19) vaccine can be very dangerous. You’re not only putting yourself at risk but also your family & the entire village,” he said.
PM Modi talked about doctors and chartered accountants on Mann Ki Baat programme as he praised their contribution to nation-building. PM Modi said doctors have gone out of their way to help people during the coronavirus pandemic and saved lives as Covid-19 hit the country.
The Prime Minister also paid tributes to sports legend Milkha Singh and asked people to wish the players participating in Tokyo Olympics through #Cheer4India on social media
