New Delhi: The country’s largest vaccination campaign continues at a fast pace. India has left behind all the countries of the world in the shortest time to vaccinate 70 lakh people.
“It took 27 days for the U.S. and 48 days for the U.K. to reach the same vaccination figures. India is also the fastest to touch the six million mark a few days back. As on February 11, till 8 a.m., more than 70 lakh (70,17,114) beneficiaries have received the vaccination under the countrywide exercise,’’ said the Ministry.
Vaccination began in the country on 16th January. 4,13,752 people were vaccinated on Thursday, the 27th day of vaccination campaign. With this, the number of vaccinators in the country has exceeded 74.3 lakhs. This includes 57,90,832 health workers and 16,40,034 frontline personnel. So far, only 40% have been vaccinated against the target in seven states, while in 13 states more than 65% of the target has been vaccinated.

The central government has directed the states to complete the first phase of vaccination by 20th February. From Saturday, the second dose of vaccine will be given to those who received the first dose of vaccine in January.
57% of registered health workers and 13% of registered frontline personnel have received the first dose of the vaccine so far.

India vaccinated 70,17,114 people in 26 days. It took 27 days for America to vaccinate 7 million people. Britain took 48 days to vaccinate the same population.
