New Delhi: India is celebrating its 76th Republic Day with immense pride and enthusiasm. The grand parade at Kartavya Path has become a symbol of national pride. This year’s Republic Day also marks the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge extended their heartfelt wishes to the citizens on this special occasion.
The event featured Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto as the chief guest. The day began with Prime Minister Narendra Modi paying homage at the National War Memorial. President Droupadi Murmu unfurled the national flag, followed by a spectacular parade showcasing the strength, unity, and cultural diversity of the nation.
Indian Air Force’s Mesmerizing Fly-Past
The Indian Air Force delivered a breathtaking fly-past featuring aircraft such as Rafale, Sukhoi-30, Jaguar, C-130, C-295, and Apache helicopters. Pilots executed intricate formations like Dhwaj, Ajay, and Vijay, concluding with the spectacular “Vertical Charlie” maneuver by Rafale, leaving spectators in awe.
Cultural Performances: ‘Jayati Jay Mam Bharatam’
A cultural extravaganza named ‘Jayati Jay Mam Bharatam’ illuminated Kartavya Path. Over 5,000 artists showcased 45 traditional dance forms, presenting a vivid display of India’s cultural heritage. The performances extended from Vijay Chowk to C-Hexagon, ensuring an inclusive experience for all attendees.
CRPF’s Historic Women’s March
A 148-member all-women marching contingent from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), led by Assistant Commandant Aishwarya Joy M, showcased strength and discipline. This historic march highlighted women’s empowerment and their pivotal role in national security.
Indian Navy and Armed Forces
The Indian Navy presented a tableau symbolizing a self-reliant naval force capable of safeguarding India’s maritime interests. The parade also featured tableaux dedicated to the sacrifices of armed forces veterans and sports icons such as Padma Shri awardee Subedar Murlikant Petkar.
Mounted Column and Regimental March
The parade began with the 61 Cavalry’s Mounted Column, led by Lieutenant Ahaan Kumar. Mechanized columns and marching contingents from elite regiments like Guards Brigade, Jat Regiment, and Garhwal Rifles marched with precision, embodying the valor and unity of the Indian Army.
Flag Formation and Musical Performances
The fly-past opened with the Dhwaj formation, where Mi-17 1V helicopters carried the national flag and service flags of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, showering flower petals. A 300-member group played melodies on indigenous instruments, orchestrated by the Ministry of Culture.
