Imran Khan visits Sri Lanka as ‘The Salesman of China’, attempts to invole Lanka in CPEC

Colombo: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is currently visiting Sri Lanka. Imran Khan, who arrived on a visit to Sri Lanka, started counting the benefits of relations with China. Even his false promises were seen while trying to implicate Lanka in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Imran, who arrived in Sri Lanka, was very appreciative of the CPEC but kept silence over its flaws.

Imran Khan, who shelters terrorism himself, said that Pakistan and Sri Lanka share common problems including terrorism as both countries have suffered a lot due to this threat. He said that Pakistan faced terrorism for ten years and about 70,000 people were killed.

Addressing a joint press with his Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapaksa in Colombo, he said that Pakistan is part of the Belt and Road Initiative of China and CPEC is the flagship project of the event, which offers many opportunities for connectivity and trade. Prime Minister Imran Khan emphasized on ways and means for Sri Lanka to increase trade and connectivity through the China Pakistan Economic Corridor to Central Asia.

“We also discussed other areas where we can enhance our trading ties where Sri Lanka can benefit from Pakistan’s connectivity in the future, right up to central Asia. And our trading ties will also mean that the two countries will get together,” he said.

Imran Khan said that Pakistan played its part in helping Sri Lanka prevent terrorism which was hampering development and tourism.
