Colombo: Pak PM Imran Khan, who destroyed Pakistan’s economy by promoting terrorism, is now remembering good relations with neighboring countries and its benefits. Imran Khan, who sinks into debt trap of China said that only good trade relations with neighbors can eradicate poverty.
Referring to the Kashmir dispute with India Imran Khan said that Kashmir dispute with India can be resolved through dialogue. However, he did not say why Pakistan is resorting to terrorism if he believes in peace and dialogue.
Imran Khan while addressing the Pakistan-Sri Lanka Trade and Investment Conference in Colombo, said the only way the subcontinent can tackle poverty is by improving trade relations.
“Immediately when I came into power, I approached our neighbour India and explained to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the way forward for the subcontinent is to resolve our differences through dialogue,” he said.
“I didn’t succeed but I am optimistic that eventually sense will prevail. The only way the subcontinent can tackle poverty is by improving trade relations. Let us live like civilised neighbours as the Europeans live, ” he added.
Imran Khan said, “Germany and France fought many times, but today they cannot even think about it, because they are so connected with trade.” Similarly, my dream for the subcontinent is that we can resolve differences.”
“We only want that the Kashmir dispute be resolved according to the resolutions of the UN Security Council and this is possible only through dialogue,” Imran added.
Imran Khan further said that disputes between the two countries only lead to more conflicts. Imran Khan, who faced a severe attack on the support of terrorism, said, “We want to resolve differences through dialogue, not quarrels.”
