New Delhi: The central government has announced people over 60 years and those above 45 with comorbidities can get coronavirus vaccine from 1 March. Meanwhile, an important question has also been answered that what will be the cost of corona vaccine in private hospitals. The government has decided that a dose in private hospitals will cost ₹ 250. Vaccination in government hospitals will be completely free.
The government has announced to start the vaccination drive in 10,000 government hospitals and 20,000 private centers across the country. The total of two doses taken in a gap of 28 days will cost ₹ 500. It will also include all types of taxes. Meanwhile, Gujarat Deputy CM Nitin Patel has confirmed that a vaccine will cost ₹ 250 in private hospitals in the state. Many leaders of the country including West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have appealed to the PM to provide free vaccines to everyone. But the central government has made it clear that there will be no free vaccination in private hospitals.
Earlier on January 16, the first round of corona vaccination began. Due to this, health workers have been vaccinated across the country. Now the second round will start from 1 March. In this phase, the elderly will be vaccinated. Apart from this, people suffering from serious illness of more than 45 years will also get vaccinated. Corona vaccine will be completely free in all 10,000 government hospitals. However, a charge of up to 500 rupees will have to be paid for vaccination in any private hospital.
Earlier, the Central Government has rejected many such claims, in which different claims of corona vaccination charge were being made. This will be the first time in the country, when medicines like Covishield and Covaxin will also be available in private hospitals.
