Ingredients for Semolina Gulab Jamun
- 1 teaspoon ghee
- 1 cup semolina (suji)
- 1½ cups milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
Method to Make Semolina Gulab Jamun
- Roast the Semolina
Begin by heating a pan over medium flame. Add ghee, then fine semolina, and roast it for 5 minutes while stirring continuously. Once it’s well-roasted, add one cup of milk and half a teaspoon of sugar. Stir thoroughly to combine. - Cook the Semolina
As the milk starts to evaporate, add another half cup of milk. Ensure there are no lumps in the mixture. Cook until all the milk is absorbed. Remove the semolina mixture from heat and let it cool. - Prepare the Dough
Once the mixture has cooled, transfer it to a plate and knead it into a soft dough. Before kneading, apply a little ghee to your palms and knead for around 10 minutes for the perfect consistency. - Form Small Balls
Apply ghee to your palms again and shape the dough into small, smooth balls. - Fry the Balls
Heat ghee in a pan on low flame. Add the semolina balls one by one and fry them until they turn golden brown. Remove from ghee and set aside. - Make the Sugar Syrup
In a separate pot, add water and sugar, and bring to a boil until the sugar dissolves completely. Turn off the heat once done. - Soak the Gulab Jamun
Place the fried gulab jamuns in the syrup and let them sit for 1-2 hours to absorb the sweetness.
Your delicious Semolina Gulab Jamuns are now ready to serve and enjoy.
