Defining The Moroccan Style Homes!

The Moroccan interior design style is inspired by the North African country Morocco and takes its roots from Moorish architecture, which is characterized by its arches—horseshoe, ogee and lancet—its color palette of rich hues, and decorative tile work.
Drawing inspiration from Morocco’s landscape, look for shades of blue and green from the Atlantic and Mediterranean, shimmering gold and silver invoking the Sahara sands and rich reds and oranges that conjure images of African sunsets. Like other styles that make use of the word chic, Moroccan chic is about taking the classic Moroccan design style and updating it for a more modern appeal.

INTRICATE MIRROR

Intricate and detail-rich mirrors go perfect in any Moroccan styled space. More of an investment, they’re not as easily replaced, so if you’re not willing to fully commit to the dedicated Moroccan style, choose an intricate mirror that could go well in any space such as the fourth one.

LATTICE RUGS

Lattice rugs are staple pieces in a Moroccan styled space, or in any other Mediterranean space for that matter. You can get one big enough to cover a whole floor space, or to accomodate a seating area. Top that with Moroccan lamps hanging above, and one Moroccan pouf or two, and a few Moroccan patterned pillows, and you’ve most likely already achieved a Moroccan look. Or go a step further by investing in intricately carved furnishings.

MOROCCAN PILLOWS

Throw pillows with Moroccan pattern will add a tinge of Moroccan style to your space. Using these would be playing on a safer side as pillow covers can easily be replaced. These can be added to your bed, sofa, accent chairs, or if you find ones big enough, to the floor as a floor pillow to add a bold statement.

MOROCCAN LAMPS & LANTERNS

Moroccan lamps and lanterns are so feminine and gorgeous! They are perfect for accent lighting in your living room, dining room, bedroom, al fresco, or even bathroom. When lit, they cast interesting patterns all over the room—absolutely romantic.

MOROCCAN POTTERY

The vast choice of Moroccan pottery is flexible to suit your color palette. Ebay has a vast range of them.

INTRICATELY CARVED FURNISHINGS

Intricately carved furnishings will add a more authentic feel to your Moroccan styled space. They’re rustic, and rich with details, surely an investment as they go with any interior style.
