‘Danish Siddiqui’, Indian Journalist-Pulitzer Award-winner killed in Afghanistan

Kandahar: Indian photojouralist Danish Siddiqui was killed in clashes in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar city in Afghanistan on Friday. He was killed while he was on a reporting assignment embedded with the Afghan Special Forces.

Siddique had covered many important stories of national and international importance, including India’s second COVID-19 wave, and the migrant crisis.

Condoling Danish Siddiqui’s demise, Farid Mamundzay, the Afghanistan’s Ambassador to India, tweeted: “Deeply disturbed by the sad news of the killing of a friend, Danish Seddiqi in Kandahar last night. Condolences to his family & Reuters.”
