New Delhi: China has agreed to investigate the origin of corona virus. China has approved the World Health Organization team to come and investigate. Now the WHO team will visit China on Thursday, January 14.

The National Health Commission announced a sentence on Monday that experts from the World Health Organization would hold meetings with Chinese counterparts, but gave no other details. However, it is not yet clear whether the WHO team will visit Wuhan from where the corona virus is causing havoc all over the world. China has not said anything about it yet.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus expressed disappointment last week over delays, saying that members of the international scientific team departing from their home countries had already started on their trip as part of an arrangement between the WHO and the Chinese government.

He further said that I am in touch with senior Chinese officials and I have once again made it clear that this mission is a priority for the WHO and the international team.

Michael Ryan, head of the World Health Organization’s emergency programs after being denied the last time, said the experts were supposed to arrive there by Tuesday, but they have not been given the necessary approvals, including visas. The head of the World Health Organization met with Chinese President Xi Jinping last year amid a growing outbreak of the virus. WHO has formed a team of scientists to find out the origin of corona virus. The team will visit Wuhan in China and investigate its origin, as the first case of corona virus was found in this city.

It is to be noted in the last year, the World Health Assembly (WHA) – the governing body of the 194-member states of the WHO – approved a resolution to set up an independent inquiry to conduct an impartial, independent and comprehensive evaluation of the international response as well as that of WHO. It also asked the WHO to investigate the source of the virus and the route of introduction to the human population.
