Desk:Tensions between India and Pakistan have reached a boiling point following the recent attack in Pahalgam. India has issued stern warnings to Pakistan over terrorism and has taken a series of tough measures in response. Amidst rising tensions along the border, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday delivered a strong message, vowing to eliminate the last remnants of terrorism.
In anticipation of a possible major Indian response, Pakistan has increased the deployment of its troops along the border. Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has launched a large-scale military exercise named ‘Aakraman’ to enhance preparedness.
‘Aakraman’ Exercise Underway
According to sources, the Indian Air Force is conducting complex ground attack drills across varied terrains, including plains and mountainous regions. The exercise is spearheaded by the Rafale fighter jets and is under strict supervision from the Air Force Headquarters. Top IAF pilots and trainers are leading and participating in the missions.
Focus on Ground Strike and Electronic Warfare
Defense sources have stated that the cutting-edge aircraft are performing intricate missions involving ground strikes and electronic warfare tactics. Assets of the Indian Air Force have been strategically relocated from various airbases, including those in the eastern sector. Notably, the IAF is considered one of the most advanced air forces in the South Asian region.
India’s arsenal includes Meteor air-to-air missiles and long-range, high-speed, low-drag missiles like Rampage and Rocks, significantly enhancing its strike capabilities.
Rafale Jets Fully Combat-Ready
It is worth recalling that after the Pulwama attack in February 2019, the Indian Air Force played a critical role in conducting airstrikes using Mirage 2000 fighter jets. Since then, the IAF has inducted Rafale jets into its fleet, further boosting its aerial combat capabilities. Additionally, India has also deployed the S-400 air defense system, which can serve as a powerful deterrent against enemy aggression.
With tensions rising and military postures intensifying on both sides, the situation along the India-Pakistan border remains highly volatile.
