Desk:In a major counter-offensive, the Indian Army has demolished a frontline Pakistani post and a terrorist launchpad near Jammu. According to sources, this was the same area from which tube-launched drones were being used to target Indian territory. The operation, based on precise intelligence inputs, successfully neutralized the launch site used to send drones for terror-related activities.
On Friday night, Pakistan once again attempted drone attacks on 26 locations across India. However, India’s robust defense systems thwarted the assault, shooting down several drones and missiles mid-air. Loud explosions were reported in multiple areas across Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab during the night.
It is well-known that the Pakistani army actively supports terror groups in carrying out attacks on India. With military backing, terrorists have established several launchpads near the border. In a strong retaliation, India destroyed not only the terror infrastructure but also the posts from which shelling was being conducted across the Line of Control (LoC).
On Friday night, India successfully intercepted fresh drone strikes from Pakistan targeting 26 locations, including the Srinagar airport and other critical areas in the northern and western regions of the country. India also accused Islamabad of endangering civilian lives by using passenger aircraft as “shields” during its aerial operations.
For the third consecutive night, Pakistan targeted several Indian cities, this time ranging from Baramulla in northern Kashmir to Bhuj in Gujarat. According to the Indian government, on Thursday night, Pakistan attempted to strike Indian military installations across 36 locations from Leh to Sir Creek, launching 300 to 400 Turkish-origin drones.
The army reported that drones were spotted at 26 locations along the International Border and LoC, from Baramulla in the north to Bhuj in the south. All attempted strikes on airports, airbases, and other sensitive sites were effectively neutralized. Drones were seen in Baramulla, Srinagar, Awantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Firozpur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Lalgarh Jatta, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, Kuarbet, and Lakki Nala.
Officials confirmed that an armed drone targeted a civilian area in Firozpur, seriously injuring a member of a local family. Defense sources in Srinagar stated that attacks on Srinagar airport and Awantipora airbase in south Kashmir were foiled late Friday night, even as explosions were heard in parts of Jammu and South Kashmir.
For residents of many border districts, it was another night of darkness and fear. As soon as air threat alerts were issued, sirens were activated and the armed forces swung into action. From Srinagar and Jammu to several districts in Punjab and Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer and Jodhpur, vast border regions experienced blackouts. Public announcements were made instructing civilians to turn off their lights as a precautionary measure.
