The word ‘Yoga’ comes from the sanskrit word ‘yuj’, which means connection…… for example, being at some other place, if I’m thinking of one of my family members at my home, so for there few mins, I’m in yoga with that person. That’s yoga which means connection.
This body is my costume and I’m the being (soul, energy, spirit, power) which thinks, feels, decides and then comes into karma. The results of these four yogas are:
‘Feelings’- the common feelings today are stress, fear……….‘Body’- Hardly anyone can claim 100% perfect health. And regarding our ‘relationship’ and the ‘environment’ also we find that there is something which needs to be changed.
To have these 4 yogas the way I want them to be, to have ‘Happiness’ always, to be ‘Healthy’ always, to have ‘Harmony’ in the relationships and to have ‘Heaven’ on earth……I need to have the fifth yoga i.e. the connection with the “Supreme Soul.”
While practising some asana pranayam; if I’m worrying about something; even if performing the asana correctly; I’m not sending the right vibration to the body; so will still not get the perfect health. And not just while doing asana (physical exercise) but for the rest of the day as well, my thoughts has to be right, only then I can get health. I will have to be a yogi 24 hrs. What we understand by yoga is actually a very small part of what it is.
Yoga has to be a lifestyle. There are 2 kinds of lifestyle- Yogi and Bhogi. Bhogi means one who suffers. So, let it be a new fashion statement:-
“Now I live a new lifestyle- “A YOGI LIFESTYLE”
For this, develop a personal relationship with the supreme soul. Early morning connect with him for atleast 20 mins, that’s called “Gyanyog.”
At Brahmakumaris, we go to the center, to study gyan i.e. the information full of divinity, purity, power, harmony, without which we cannot create the right thoughts.
First Rajyoga, then Gyanyoga, then we will practice Hatyoga i.e. The exercise (physical) through which I’m working on my body; but being aware of what thoughts I’m creating. So, my thoughts are in harmony any with the body.
“Daily giving this 1 ½ hrs to energize the soul and body, will solve every problem.
Food – for a yogi lifestyle the food should be saatvik; food with high frequency vibration.
Food cooked with a very pure state of mind. Non vegetarian food may be healthy for the body but the animal’s last state of mind was of fear, pain, helpless, hatred, violence, death, which means a low energy food and is highly toxic for my emotional health, my state of mind. Also, we should not eat while watching television or while discussing something troublesome. The food will absorb all the vibrations and will effect my state of mind. Yogi jeevan means, eat the food cooked in the rememberance of supreme soul at in the rememberance of him.
“Just experiment this for 1 month and how you are feeling will change.”
After every hour, pause for 1 min and create pure, powerful thoughts which at Brahmakumaris we call Traffic Control of thoughts. Also a Yogi earns clean money, money that’s vibrating on a high frequency.
LAST YOGA i.e. NIDRA YOGA
Just before, going to sleep, 10 mins of introspection, reflection, studying, meditation, cleaning the mind and then going to sleep i.e. Yog nidra (sleep should also be like meditation).
Early morning meditation (Rajyog), Gyanyog, 1 min pause (T.C) after 1 hour, earning clean money, mind saatvik, food saatik only then the body will be saatvik.
To sum up, it is absolutely just to say that ‘Yoga’ can give us happiness, health, harmony and has the power to create heaven on earth; by creating the right thought, by connecting to the supreme power.
So, let’s start a new lifestyle- “A Yogi Lifestyle”
