Everyone knows what is the real meaning of the teacher or Guru and who their Guru is?
The one and only who teaches, guides, mentors and shows the right path during the different stages of life.
Whenever I think about this, I just remember one shlok of Kabir Ji:
“गुरू गोविन्द दोऊ खड़े, काके लागूं पांय।
बलिहारी गुरू अपने, गोविन्द दियो बताय।”
Here, Kabir says that the Spiritual Teacher or Guru is even greater than God. He says, if teacher and God are both in front of me, who will I greet first. He then says, it is only because of the teacher’s teaching and his sacrifices I am able to see God. else so always touching their feet first means respect your Guru for their guidance, knowledge, skills and sacrifices.”
Guru is the one who teaches you the path and lets you achieve your goal or he/she is the one who can guide you the proper way to reach your destiny. In old times when you were traveling and if you lost the way, you asked someone to show you the path right, same way in this generation you ask the google map to show you the path. The meaning is the same but the paraphernalia you use to achieve success is different.
We all know the story of Eklavya and Dronacharya who is the best example for setting and achieving your goal by the help of Guru. It is said that “when there is a will there’s a way”. Eklavya found his own way and proved it right. I wouldn’t talk about the Arjun and Dronacharya because he has received knowledge and skills from his Guru easily, however the other side Eklavya is the one who has the strongest desire to learn and got the knowledge by his own way but still he believes that Dronacharya has taught him everything. He made him his Guru anyways. This is the real meaning and importance of Guru in anyone’s life.
If we see in the recent examples most of the people will say google is my Guru. I personally heard and believed the same that google and internet can teach you a lot only if you can take it in a positive way. It is not that we will have a Guru who is older than us. We can learn a lot of things from our surroundings. Maybe younger than us can teach us more than we even think of. So it is all about the attitude with gratitude and desire to learn which can help you to search for the right Guru in your life who can lead your life with happiness and teach you what you want to learn and what you don’t want to learn.
In ancient times people believed and followed the path of the Guru who has specialised skills and knowledge in any matter. On the other side in this generation people do follow the path from doing research. They do have multiple options to choose their Guru. The mode and tools have been changed but the meaning of Guru remains the same for any period of time because each and everyone has to learn something from someone. Self-desire to learn and achieve success is the goal of every person and Guru is the only one who can show us the right path at the right time to get a successful life.
Yes, Guru has a lot of impact on anyone’s life and so I do have some Guru who taught me a lot in my life personally and professionally. However, I can not count on them as there are lots of people around me who taught me a lot of stuff knowingly or unknowingly so I would just say my gratitude to all of them who have given me some path to think when I was lost and bring me back to the track. And yes google is also a part of it. At last, I would just say keep your aim high, make a strong desire to achieve something in life and find the Guru who can motivate you at each and every step of your journey because any journey is empty without a Guru who makes it happy, joyful and successful by their knowledge, skills and experience.
