Indian-Origin Man Stabbed to Death in London, Investigation Underway

London : A 26-year-old Indian-origin man, Gurbhej Singh, was stabbed to death in west London, prompting a murder investigation by the Metropolitan Police.

According to police, the attack took place late at night near the junction of North Road and Dormers Wells Lane in Southall. Emergency services responded to reports of a stabbing and found two injured men at the scene. Gurbhej Singh had sustained serious knife injuries and was pronounced dead at the spot despite efforts by paramedics to save him.

A second man who was injured in the incident was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Police said seven people were initially detained in connection with the case. Following preliminary inquiries, six were released without further action, while one individual has been released on bail pending further investigation.

The Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the investigation. Detectives have appealed to witnesses and anyone with CCTV or other relevant footage to come forward and assist with the inquiry.

Investigators are examining all aspects of the case to determine the motive behind the attack and identify those responsible. Meanwhile, an online fundraising campaign has been launched to help cover the costs of repatriating Gurbhej Singh’s body to India and arranging his funeral.

The incident has shocked members of the local Indian community, who have expressed grief over the young man’s death.
