Desk : Russian President Vladimir Putin has praised India’s rapid development and growing global influence, stating that while Pakistan is a large and important country, India’s achievements in recent years have been exceptional.
Speaking at a public event, Putin highlighted India’s economic growth, technological advancements and expanding role in international affairs. He said that India has emerged as one of the world’s leading powers and continues to strengthen its position in the global economy.
The Russian leader also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, noting that India has maintained a steady path of development while pursuing an independent foreign policy. According to Putin, India makes decisions based on its national interests and is not easily influenced by external pressure.
Referring to bilateral relations, Putin described India as a reliable and long-standing strategic partner of Russia. He emphasized that the growing relationship between India and other global powers, including the United States, would not undermine the strong ties between Moscow and New Delhi.
Putin further noted that cooperation between India and Russia continues to expand across key sectors such as defence, energy, trade, space exploration and technology. Both countries also work closely together in multilateral forums including BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
His remarks come at a time when India’s international profile continues to rise, with major economies seeking stronger engagement with New Delhi on economic, strategic and geopolitical issues.
