Desk : Hamza Burhan, a key accused in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, has reportedly been killed by unidentified assailants in Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), according to local media reports.
The incident took place when Hamza Burhan was present in the area. Unidentified gunmen reportedly opened fire on him, killing him on the spot. The attackers fled immediately after the incident.
Hamza Burhan was considered one of the key conspirators in the Pulwama attack of February 14, 2019, in which more than 40 personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were killed. He had long been associated with terror-related activities and was on the wanted list of Indian security agencies.
Following the incident, Pakistani security forces cordoned off the area and launched an investigation. However, there has been no official statement regarding the identity of the attackers or the motive behind the killing.
The development is being viewed as a significant blow to terror networks operating in the region.
