India–UAE Set to Deepen Strategic Partnership with New Initiatives

Desk : India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to further strengthen their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership by identifying new areas of cooperation during the visit of Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri to the Gulf nation.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri held detailed discussions with UAE Minister of State and Special Envoy Reem Al Hashimy. The talks focused on reviewing the progress made since recent high-level exchanges between the two countries and exploring new initiatives to expand bilateral cooperation.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance collaboration in key sectors including trade, investment, energy, defence, technology, fintech, healthcare, education, culture, and people-to-people ties. They also emphasized the importance of building on existing frameworks to further strengthen the India–UAE partnership.

During the visit, the Foreign Secretary also interacted with senior UAE officials and representatives from the investment sector. The discussions focused on boosting UAE investments in India and expanding cooperation in emerging areas such as technology and infrastructure development.

The India–UAE relationship has witnessed rapid growth in recent years, especially after the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which significantly boosted bilateral trade and economic engagement. The UAE has emerged as one of India’s key trading and investment partners.

Both sides also exchanged views on regional and global developments, particularly the situation in West Asia. They underscored the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and stability in the region.

India and the UAE reaffirmed their commitment to further elevate their strategic partnership and work closely to advance shared interests at both bilateral and global levels.
