New Delhi : External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar on Thursday said that the India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS-4) will mark a significant step forward in making cooperation between India and Africa “more ambitious, more inclusive, and future-oriented.”
Speaking at the launch of the official logo, theme, and website of IAFS-4 in New Delhi, Jaishankar said that India-Africa relations are not merely diplomatic engagements but are rooted in shared history, mutual trust, and common development aspirations.
He noted that in the evolving global landscape, the India-Africa partnership has gained even greater importance. According to him, this cooperation has the potential not only to accelerate economic growth but also to contribute to global stability and balance.
The External Affairs Minister highlighted that India has strengthened its engagement with Africa by establishing 17 new embassies in recent years, taking the total number of Indian diplomatic missions across the African continent to 46.
He further said that India has emerged as one of Africa’s largest trading partners and key investors, reflecting the deepening economic ties between the two regions.
Jaishankar expressed confidence that the upcoming IAFS-4 summit will provide a renewed direction to India-Africa relations and help shape a comprehensive and modern agenda aligned with future challenges.
The fourth edition of the India-Africa Forum Summit is expected to be held in the coming months and is being seen as a major milestone in strengthening strategic cooperation between India and Africa.
