Desk : A significant political resolution has been introduced in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly of Pakistan, recommending the nomination of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir for the Nobel Peace Prize.
The resolution was presented in the provincial assembly secretariat by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Farah Khan. It highlights that, amid evolving regional and global challenges, Pakistan has played a balanced and responsible diplomatic role on the international stage.
The proposal claims that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan has adopted a “visionary and effective policy approach,” contributing to reducing regional tensions and promoting peace.
It further states that these efforts have helped improve Pakistan’s global image, projecting the country as a “peace-loving nation” committed to stability and dialogue.
However, political observers note that the resolution may face resistance within the assembly, as opposition parties are expected to raise objections. The KP Assembly has seen similar resolutions in the past, often sparking political debate.
Earlier, a similar proposal was also moved in the Punjab Assembly, recommending the same Nobel Peace Prize nomination for Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir, reflecting a recurring political narrative within Pakistan’s provincial legislatures.
