Desk :Tensions between the Iran-backed Hezbollah group and Israel are rising steadily. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned Lebanon that if it does not disarm Hezbollah, Israel may be forced to take “ground action.”
Netanyahu stated that Lebanon is “playing with fire” and warned that if the Lebanese government fails to neutralize Hezbollah, Israel will target its positions directly.
Israeli aircraft have conducted multiple strikes in Beirut and northern Lebanon, specifically targeting districts such as Bashoura and Zoukak El-Blat. Israel claims these attacks focused on Hezbollah’s military installations. Lebanese officials, however, report civilian casualties, including deaths in southern cities due to the bombings.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam condemned the attacks, describing them as “a war we did not want.” He added that his government is making continuous efforts to prevent further escalation. The Lebanese Ministry of Health has reported a growing number of casualties and displaced persons.
The tensions have intensified amid the broader regional conflict between Israel and Iran. Hezbollah has also carried out attacks on Israeli positions, further complicating the situation.
International and regional experts warn that without a diplomatic solution, the conflict could escalate further, posing severe consequences for human rights in the region.
