Inside the Strike That Shook Iran: 30 Bombs, Khamenei Gone

New revelations about the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei are sending shockwaves across the global political landscape. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, the United States and Israel had been waiting for a rare opportunity to target Khamenei along with his top advisors simultaneously. Based on intelligence reports, three potential windows of opportunity were identified, culminating in a devastating daytime airstrike on Saturday.

30 Bombs Strike, Leadership Compound Reduced to Rubble

Sources say that 30 high-yield bombs were dropped on Khamenei’s Tehran compound. The attack was not only precise but so destructive that the entire complex was reduced to rubble. The objective was not merely to eliminate Khamenei, but to wipe out Iran’s top military and political leadership in a single blow.

Formation of Temporary Governing Council

Following Khamenei’s death, a temporary governing council has been formed as per Iran’s constitution to oversee the country. The council currently includes Iran’s reformist President Masoud Pajeshekian, hardline judiciary chief Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei, and a third member chosen from the Guardian Council by the Expediency Council. The council is monitoring the country’s security and administrative operations, especially at a time when tensions are rising in several Iranian cities and border areas resemble war-like conditions.

Who Will Be the Next Supreme Leader?

Iranian law mandates that the Assembly of Experts must elect a new Supreme Leader as soon as possible. This 88-member body of clerics determines the candidates for the country’s most powerful position. Political analysts predict that the power struggle between reformists and hardliners may intensify during this transitional period. While hardliners like Ejei will try to consolidate their influence, President Pajeshekian faces the critical responsibility of maintaining national stability.

This attack and the ensuing developments have created a significant upheaval in Iran’s political and military structure. The world now watches closely as Iran navigates this leadership transition and anticipates the direction of its next Supreme Leader.
