Desk:Israel has expressed strong support for India following the success of Operation Sindoor, which targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Commending India’s firm stance against terrorism, Israel has reiterated its commitment to strengthening defense ties with New Delhi.
Operation Sindoor was launched by India in response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The Indian Air Force carried out precision strikes on terrorist hideouts across the border, eliminating over 100 terrorists and destroying key Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba camps.
On Thursday, Israel’s Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Major General (Res.) Amir Baram, spoke with Indian Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh via phone. During the conversation, Baram conveyed Israel’s full support for India’s counter-terrorism operations and praised the successful execution of Operation Sindoor. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral defense cooperation and discussed future strategies to enhance strategic collaboration.
Earlier, Israel’s Ambassador to India, Naor Gilon, had also voiced strong support, stating that Israel upholds India’s right to self-defense. “Terrorists must know that there is no safe haven for their heinous acts against innocent civilians,” he emphasized.
India’s close ally Russia echoed similar sentiments. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova condemned all acts of terrorism and called for global unity in tackling this shared threat. “The international community must stand together against terrorism in all its forms,” she said.
The April 22 Pahalgam terror attack drew widespread condemnation from around the world, including the United States, China, and Russia. Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated on Thursday that India received significant international support during its standoff with Pakistan. He also referenced the United Nations Security Council resolution emphasizing accountability for perpetrators of terror attacks — a principle India enforced with Operation Sindoor on May 7.
