New Delhi. Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the United States has stepped in to urge both nations to resume dialogue. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone conversation with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, emphasizing the importance of reducing tensions and avoiding misunderstandings.
According to U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, Secretary Rubio stressed the need for both sides to identify ways to re-establish direct communication. He also conveyed America’s willingness to facilitate constructive dialogue aimed at preventing future conflicts.
Rubio didn’t just reach out to India. He also spoke with Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, reiterating the message that both countries should seek ways to de-escalate the current situation and restore direct lines of communication to avoid misjudgments.
In addition, the U.S. Secretary of State called Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir, appealing for efforts to restore normalcy. This diplomatic outreach from Washington is being seen as a significant move to encourage peaceful resolution and regional stability.
