Pakistan Defence Minister Admits Terror Support, India Responds Strongly

Desk: The Indian Army has avenged the Pahalgam terror attack by launching a midnight air strike on nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Under Operation Sindoor, key targets, including headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, were destroyed as part of India’s military response.

Silence Falls Over Pakistan

Following the Pahalgam attack, several senior Pakistani leaders had issued threatening statements in response to India’s diplomatic moves. However, after India’s swift military action, an uneasy silence now prevails in the neighboring country. Many observers see India’s offensive as a potential precursor to full-scale war between the two nations.

Pakistan Declares Ceasefire Before War Escalates

In a surprising turn, Pakistan has now announced a ceasefire before any further escalation. Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated, “We will defend ourselves. But if India does not take any further action, we will also refrain from doing anything.” He made this statement during an interview with a TV news channel.

Khawaja’s Tough Talk Fades in Hours

It’s notable that shortly after India’s strike, Khawaja Asif had accused India of targeting civilian areas and claimed the attacks were carried out from within Indian airspace. He had also vowed a “befitting response” to the Indian action.

However, within just a few hours, he backtracked and softened his stance, now emphasizing that Pakistan would not act further if India ceased operations.
