This year, Shani Jayanti will be observed on both May 26 and 27, 2025. According to the Hindu Panchang (calendar), this auspicious day is celebrated on the Amavasya (new moon) of the Jyeshtha month, which marks the birth anniversary of Lord Shani. As per the scriptures, it is believed that Lord Shani was born on this day. His mother’s name is Chhaya and father is Lord Surya (Sun God).
People perform special rituals on Shani Jayanti to seek blessings from Lord Shani and reduce the ill effects of Shani’s Sade Sati or Dhaiya in their horoscopes.
