Desk:Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in France on Monday for the first leg of his two-nation visit. Upon his arrival in Paris, he was warmly welcomed by the Indian community with traditional drums and celebrations. People from the Indian diaspora held Indian flags and sang the “Modi Ki Guarantee” song. During this visit, PM Modi will hold a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and pay tribute to Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during World War I. He will stay in France from February 10 to 12 before heading to the United States for the second phase of his visit.
Strengthening India-France Strategic Partnership
During his visit, PM Modi and President Macron will focus on strengthening the India-France strategic partnership. Key highlights of the visit include the inauguration of India’s first consulate in France and a visit to the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project. The two leaders will also travel to the historic city of Marseille and co-chair the AI Action Summit, a global event that brings together world leaders and top tech CEOs to discuss advancements in artificial intelligence.
Upon arriving in Paris, PM Modi expressed his enthusiasm for the visit. He posted on social media platform X, stating, “Just arrived in Paris. Looking forward to various programs focused on AI, technology, and innovation.”
PM Modi’s Statement Before Departure
Before departing from India, PM Modi shared details of his visit via a post on X. He mentioned, “Over the next few days, I will be in France and the US to participate in various events. In France, I will attend the AI Action Summit, where India is a co-chair. I will also hold discussions with President Macron to strengthen India-France relations and visit Marseille for the inauguration of a new consulate.”
Regarding his US visit, PM Modi added, “We will work together for the mutual benefit of our people and build a better future for the world.”
Key Highlights of the Visit
- Monday: PM Modi will attend a state dinner hosted by President Macron at the Élysée Palace, where tech industry CEOs and summit delegates are also expected.
- Tuesday: Modi and Macron will co-chair the AI Action Summit and address the India-France CEO Forum.
- Wednesday: The two leaders will visit Marseille to pay tribute to Indian soldiers who died in World War I and inaugurate the Indian consulate. They will also visit the International Thermonuclear Reactor (ITER) project in Cadarache.
After concluding his France visit, PM Modi will travel to the United States to continue his diplomatic engagements.
