Desk:India’s passport ranking has dropped by five places to 85th in the 2025 Henley Passport Index, down from its previous position of 80th. According to the index, Indian passport holders can now travel visa-free to 57 countries. India shares this rank with Equatorial Guinea and Niger.
Neighboring Countries’ Rankings
Pakistan is ranked 103rd, allowing its passport holders visa-free travel to only 33 countries. Afghanistan remains at the bottom of the list, with visa-free access to just 26 countries.
Who Tops the List?
Singapore has retained its position as the world’s most powerful passport for the second consecutive year. Singaporean passport holders can travel visa-free to 195 countries. Japan secures the second spot, offering visa-free access to 193 countries.

Significant Changes in Rankings
The UAE has made remarkable progress over the past decade, securing the 10th position. Its citizens can now travel visa-free to 185 countries. Meanwhile, the United States has seen a decline, dropping to the 9th position after being ranked 2nd in 2015.
Weakest Passports
Yemen and Pakistan share the 103rd rank, offering visa-free access to only 33 countries. Following them are Iraq (31 countries), Syria (27 countries), and Afghanistan (26 countries).
