It’s not only delicious but also easy to prepare.
Ingredients for Almond Halwa:
- 1 cup almonds
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- Saffron strands
- 1/2 cup ghee (clarified butter)
- 1 teaspoon wheat flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 2 tablespoons sliced almonds for garnishing
Method to Make Almond Halwa:
To make almond halwa, first soak the almonds in a bowl with water for about 8 hours or overnight. You can also soak them in lukewarm water if needed. Once the almonds are well-soaked, peel their skins off. Blend the peeled almonds in a mixer without adding any water until they are coarsely ground. Heat ghee in a pan, then add the almond paste to it and sauté on medium heat for about 10 minutes. Add wheat flour to the mixture and sauté together. In another pan, boil milk with water until it thickens. Once the almond and flour mixture is well-cooked, add this boiled milk to it and cook for about 5 minutes more on medium heat. Finally, add sugar and let the halwa cook for another 2 minutes. Turn off the heat, add cardamom powder, and garnish with sliced almonds before serving.
