Everyone older than 45 years will be eligible for vaccine from Apr 1

New Delhi:: If you are above the age of 45 years, and want to register yourself and your family for the coronavirus vaccine. Then there is good news for you, as from April 1, people above the age of 45 years will be able to register at the vaccine centre even after 3 PM. For the on-site registration, all you need is identity proof, which includes any of the mentioned— Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Passbook, Passport and Ration Card.

Union health secretary Rajesh Bhushan said on Tuesday, “Those who want to go for on-site registration are requested to go to their nearest vaccination centre after 3 pm with any identity document.” People can also book their advance appointment online on the official website i.e. http://cowin.gov.in.

Earlier, only Aadhar Card and Voter ID was accepted as the identity proof. Now, people can also show their bank passbook, passport, and ration card as identity proof. Those people who have comorbidities need to show a certificate from a medical practitioner which mentions their medical condition.

From April 1, people above the age of 45 will be able to get themselves registered for the vaccination. Now, the government has also extended the deadline for on-site registration. People can now even get the registration done even after 3 PM.

Step 1: Look for the nearby vaccination centre.

Step 2: You need to carry the identity proof with you.

Step 3: After this, you will be able to register yourself for the vaccine.

India started its vaccination drive on January 16 for the healthcare workers, and the vaccination drive was later extended for frontline workers from February 2. On March 1, the next phase of vaccination started in which people above the age of 60 were vaccinated. Now, from April 1, people above the age of 45 irrespective of comorbid condition will get vaccinated.
