Paris: The murder of school teacher Samuel Paty after he showed cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed to students in class in France’s capital Paris last year marks a new twist. The 13-year-old student is overturned by her claim, who said that she was present in the class when Samuel showed the cartoon. The student was taken into police custody on 23 November and accused Samuel Paty of Islamophobia.
The student in police custody said that she lied about this.
According to the French newspaper Parisien, the student said that she never attended the free speech class by Samuel Paty. Last year, Samuel Paty was killed by an 18-year-old student outside the school.
French officials said that the student had taken it as an insult to the Prophet. After this, he arrived with a sharp-edged knife and slit the teacher’s throat. At the same time, the 13-year-old student had demanded the teacher’s resignation while posting the video on the social media website Facebook before the murder.
According to the report, the student was taken into police custody on 23 November and charged with defamation on 25 November. The student then reported that the 47-year-old teacher had instructed Muslim students to leave the classroom so he could show the rest “a photograph of the Prophet naked”.
The student has now admitted that she was expelled for two days due to her behavior and had never attended a class where Patty showed a cartoon of Prophet Mohammed.
