New Delhi: Tensions are still going on between India and China. Meanwhile, the statement of Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria has come out. He said that negotiations are going on between India and China, we have deployed as much force as needed. We are focusing on dialogue, but if a new situation arises, then we are fully prepared for it.
IAF Chief RKS Bhadauria on being asked if Rafale aircraft has caused worries in the Chinese camp said, “They had brought their J-20 fighter aircraft (to areas close to Eastern Ladakh) and they go off from there but that is the flexibility of airpower. The moment Indian Rafales were brought in, their J-20 was there. We know their actions and capabilities.”
Air Chief Marshal also said that the government has taken a big step by increasing the capital expenditure by 20 thousand crores. Last year, additional funds of 20 thousand crore rupees were provided. This is enough to increase our capacity.
An 18% increase in budgetary allocation for capital procurement goes some way in recognising the urgent need of modernisation and weapon enhancement requirements of the armed forces. The additional ₹ 20,776 crore has been spent on buying weapons and other spares under the special financial powers given to services under emergency and other provisions.
The money has been used to acquire equipment like the Spice-2000 bombs, Spike anti-tank guided missiles, SiG Sauer assault rifles, Excalibur ammunition, multiple types of aircraft spares from Russia along with the ammunition for tanks and fighter jets.
The Union Budget of 2021-22, the Ministry of Defense has been allocated Rs 4,78,195.62 crore. Rs 1.15 lakh crore has also been allocated for defense pension.
