Abhijeet Sharma of Ramakrishna Mission English School, Jamshedpur, has brought laurels to his alma mater by becoming Jharkhand topper in the matriculation Board exam conducted by Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC).
While sharing his success journey he said, “I knew that I would pass the Matric Board exam with good marks. But I had never thought that I would become the state topper.”
He further said, ” My ambition is to become a software engineer and make my parents proud.”
According to Abhijeet, he never stood second in any exam from class I till date.
“I used to study eight hours daily. For six hours, I read new topics and devoted one hour to revision. I devoted one hour to practice through writing what I had read before,” said the topper.
His father Akhilesh Sharma earns the bread by distributing newspapers and doing carpentry work.
Abhijeet’s father took loan to bear the expenses of his studies. The family runs with great difficulty. His mother Tiloka Sharma is a home maker. He lives in a small rental house. Abhijeet’s father pays the house rent of Rs 3,500 every month.
The topper’s father recalls that COVID-19 brought the most catastrophic period of their life. They didn’t even have food to eat. Life was miserable to the core. But, even then, we as parents never let our son’s studies get affected. At that time there was a need for mobile because studies were being done online. So, we took a loan and bought a second hand mobile for Abhijeet. We never want our son feel disappointed for our poor financial condition. Today when people are appreciating Abhijeet’s efforts, we feel a sense of pride. Our son has topped the state- this feeling of extreme happiness and satisfaction cannot be described in words.
The immense struggle and hidden anguish of this topper is truly inspiring. Abhijeet has set a milestone for the generations to come. His journey is an example for all his peers to rise above all the odds and become a victor not a victim.
