The Indian Army: An Epitome of Inexplicable ‘Seva’ Spirit, courage and unflinching loyalty to Humanity

Srinagar: The Indian Army is always ready to protect our country and provide all sort of help world wide. Their services in most disastrous situations are also availed globally. It is the service spirit of the Indian Army that strengthens our faith in humanity and gives us ample opportunities to live in a safe environment. A vivid example of this has surfaced recently.

There was an old adage which says a picture is worth a thousand words and this picture of our soldiers of the Indian Army shows the spirit of ‘Seva Parmo Dharma’ {Seva (service) is the supreme Dharma (path of rightness)} in the Kashmir Valley amid continuous snowfall for the last few days. The picture is telling that the army not only protects us at the border but also commits itself to save the life of every citizen of the country.

Amidst these difficult conditions in the valley, in Karalpura, Kupwara, the soldiers picked up the pregnant woman on the cot, 2 km away from her house and reached the ambulance. From here the woman was taken to the hospital, where she gave birth to the child. Due to heavy snowfall in areas of South Kashmir, patients and pregnant women have to be taken to hospital on temporary stretchers.
