Success is not any product that we order online and get within a week at our doorstep. Success takes time to achieve. It not only takes time but hard work, an attitude of not to give up, and most important is patience in achieving it. An impatient individual tries to achieve success through a shortcut which is impossible as there is no shortcut of success. There are several stories of successful people which shows that their success is not the result of an overnight effort, but a continuous and tireless effort, hard work and time they sacrificed to achieve it.
One of the most successful businessmen of India Dhirubhai Ambani became a business tycoon after struggling for several years. He started his career as a clerk at A. Bess & Co. in 1950 where he learned different business skills like trading and accounting. In 1958 he returned back to Bombay (now Mumbai) and started trading in spices and soon expanded into other commodities and in synthetic textiles mill in 1966. Soon with his hard work and business strategies he established the Reliance Empire and became the business tycoon. Another example is Kiran Mazumdar Shaw who is a successful women entrepreneur of India. She wished to study medicine but was not able to obtain a scholarship so on suggestion of her father who was head brewmaster at United Breweries she went to Ballarat College, Melbourne University in Australia to study malting & brewing where she was the only woman enrolled and she topped in her class. She worked as a trainee in Carlton and United Breweries and at Barrett Brothers and Burston. She also worked as a technical consultant. However when she tried to start a career as a master brewer in India she could not get a job as it was considered man’s work. She began to look abroad and soon got a position in Scotland and the rest is the history of her hard work and patience in establishing the Biocon Limited, an Indian Biopharmaceuticals company in Bangalore.
There are numerous examples around the world like Steve Jobs, Colonel Harland David Sanders etc., whose story proves that success cannot be achieved overnight, it requires hard work, patience and passion and also demand time to achieve the dreams. Just like cooking Maa ki daal or Biryani or any food requires time in preparation with delicious taste, overnight success is not possible, it can be achieved over a period of time by following passion and dream and continuously working towards achieving it without getting tired and bored. As per Bo Bennett – “When it comes to success, there are no shortcuts.”
“Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence.”
