Desk: In a horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, initial investigations have revealed shocking details. A joint team comprising the army, Jammu and Kashmir police, and administration has expressed serious concern upon examining the clothes of the deceased. Investigators found that the pants of 20 victims were pulled down or their zippers were open. This evidence confirms that the terrorists first asked the tourists about their religion, and then shot them in the head after confirming they were Hindu.
According to sources cited by The Times of India, the terrorists demanded identification documents like Aadhar cards and driving licenses from the victims, asked them to read the ‘Kalma,’ and then conducted genital mutilation checks by removing their lower garments. Following confirmation of their Hindu identity in this barbaric manner, the terrorists shot them at close range.
The families of the victims were likely in such shock that they did not notice the state of the bodies, and even the employees handled the corpses as they were, only covering them with shrouds. Out of the 26 killed in the attack, 25 were Hindu men. All of them were men.
The investigation into this gruesome massacre is now progressing rapidly. Sources have indicated that approximately 70 supporters of terrorism and ‘overground workers’ are being questioned from areas like Tral, Pulwama, Anantnag, and Kulgam. Initially, around 1,500 people were detained, of which suspicion has now narrowed down to 70 main suspects. Officials hope to reach the real culprits soon.
This heinous act not only brings shame to humanity but also poses a serious threat to communal harmony in the region. Across the country, there is a wave of anger and grief over this incident.
